Virtual Sessions

Virtual Session.png

Following their success during months of lockdowns during 2020 and 2021, we are pleased to be continuing to offer Virtual Sessions to groups who are unable to either visit us, or have us visit them, in person. This has been particularly popular for groups outside our immediate area, and we have enjoyed delivering sessions to schools in Gloucestershire, Scouts in Merseyside and even some overseas groups!

These live sessions for schools and groups are delivered via a secure Zoom link, on a range of topics linked to the national curriculum. The list below is the sessions we have prepared so far, but we are open to suggestions so please let us know if there is something else you would like us to cover:

Food chains and webs

British habitats

Nocturnal Animals

Raptor Conservation

All About Owls

Animal Storytime

These sessions will be priced at £35. Each session will last up to 1 hourand will include different activities relating to raptors and time for questions at the end. We can provide worksheets for these sessions, which will be available to download from here.

Sessions are available Mon-Fri 10-3, but if you would like to arrange a session outside of these times, please do get in touch with our Education Officer, Susan, to discuss.

Just wanted to say thank you on behalf of Central Norfolk Scouts. I don’t think any of us expected the kids to engage so well and I’m sure they would have kept asking questions for a lot longer if we had let them. Our leaders were really impressed and we are going to see about the possibility of a district visit at some point in the future. This meeting really caught the children’s attention and was the best attendance we have had.

The session was packed full of information!

It was great to tie in facts about raptor adaptations with what they had learned in class. The children loved seeing Auckland the Boobook Owl. The presentation was excellent, really clear and made good use of Zoom features (poll, chat). It really made a nice enhancement of our lock-down science lessons, reminding children that places like the sanctuary are still out there working for the birds.

Particularly enjoyed seeing the owl, learning new facts and the interaction between Susan and the children. You pitched the session at the right level and spoke slowly and clearly. Thank you!

Thank you so much! All KS2 and the teachers really enjoyed the presentation. Year 6 spent the rest of the morning thought showering about what they had learnt, and rating the presentation out of five stars. The feedback was incredible and lots of five star ratings.
