Our Amazon Wish List is an easy way to help support the work we do caring for our animals and wild birds of prey that come into the hospital. Most of the items on our Wish List are types of enrichment, which will be used by our falconers and keepers to directly improve the welfare of our animals. But we’ve also included some items on there which are vital supplies for our Raptor Hospital and Hedgehog Hotel as well as equipment we need to keep the Sanctuary well maintained.

What is enrichment?

Environmental enrichment is a term used to describe the provision of mental, physical and sensory stimulation to animals held in captivity, allowing them to display natural behaviours. With most of our animals being predatory, this usually takes the form of hiding their food in novel feeding puzzles, which encourages them to use their brains to work our how to get access to the tasty treats. Just like your pets at home, some of our animals are smarter than others, so they may require a more challenging puzzle than our more sedentary species.

How it works?
